Coastal (Salinas / Montañita ) Two Days Tour

The weather in Ecuador is affected by two currents, El Niño (warm, the first half of the year) and Humboldt (cold the second half of the year). Therefore, December to May will be the sunny and warm season, and June to October will be the cold season and humpback whales watching.

Departure westbound to the coast and then to the north.

Ride on the coastal road, crossing countless charming fisher-folk villages and visiting a couple depending on the group´s particular interests: Sight seeing, handicrafts, gastronomy etc.  arrival to “Montañita”, known as the Mecca of surfing in South America is a place where cultures and ethnicities many countries are intertwined.

In Montañita you can choose one of the following activities:

  • Surf classes or practice on the beach of Montañita
  • Mountaineer bike tour
  • Relaxing massage
  • Oceanic Kayak

Early wake up, breakfast and then we transfer to  Puerto Lopez. The fishermen´s town from which we start the 20 miles cruise to  ISLA DE LA PLATA, this little island is known as “Mini Galapagos island” due to some geographical similarities and the fauna that inhabit this island: Lizards, green turtles, Frigate birds, Blue footed boobies, red footed boobies, Nazca boobies, Red billed Tropic birds and even Waved Albatross are some of the species that we will  find during this excursion.

On our way to  and from Isla de la Plata (20 nautical miles) we will  encounter Humpback Whales and we will stop and enjoy their company.

At the end of the Isla de la Plata excursion (4:00 pm) we will start the drive back to  Guayaquil (5 hours)

Return to Guayaquil.
